Testing Mobile Blogging

My three remaining readers, I am sorry to have kept you in suspense so long. I have been so wrapped up in the work I am doing with SEIU, and with playing with my new iphone (from which I am dispaching this very post) that I have been (and will likely continue to be) neglecting you. More to come, until then trust that you remain dear to my heart.

Tagging

I’ve spent much of the morning tagging old blog posts. Hopefully now my tag cloud (off in the side bar; see?) is more indicative of what this blog is actually about.

Been Tweetin’

A lot of what used to be shorter blog posts have become twitter ‘tweets’. That means I’ve been ignoring this space a little. That stinks. I’m thinking about some regular features. I try to write at twitter haiku daily, and I’m thinking that I’ll do a weekly post here with all those. Also, I’m hoping to review/share tasting notes on a new beer every Friday (as finances permit). I haven’t been paying as much mind to national politics since the election as I usually do. I think that having a President who I like and trust takes some of the fire out from under me.

Anyway, you can follow me on Twitter, http://twitter.com/samuelrutldge

New Design.

My blog looks different today than it did yesterday. That’s pretty much all I have to say about that. As usual when I have this sort of internet identity crisis, further changes may or may not be forthcoming.

New Features

I realize that I’ve been behind the bell curve on adding new technologies to the blog here. Almost everyone is now using a ’share this’ icon on their posts. I just added mine. Click on the ’share this’ link beneath any post to post my idle musings to your facebook, myspace, digg, or other social bookmarking site of choice. Woot.

Also, external links now come with a little thingy like this —>. Hover over it and you’ll see a little clip preview of where the link points. If it points to something like Wikipedia, or if there’s an RSS feed associated with the link you’ll see a preview of the top stories. Dope.

So, things are moving toward the future here in Samuelrutledge land. Maybe I’ll even find the motivation to post consistently even when there aren’t big political events or home-brew projects going on. Maybe.
